Why the Name Turning Point?

We restarted the church in 1989 after it had struggled for years and had been closed. We continued under the former name of Open Bible Church for several years. We then decided that our name should fit our vision and the ministry of our church. We looked at and discussed many different names and after nearly a year of prayer and discussion, we chose Turning Point Community Church.

We chose Turning Point because most of us had discovered our need for Christ at a specific time. We concluded that this was the Turning Point of our lives and a Turning Point is specifically what we want to help others find.

In 2014 we changed our name to Turning Point CITI Church in order to align our name with our CITI vision.
