What to Expect

What to Expect

It is never easy to visit a new church for the first time, so we want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. Whether you've attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in a church, Turning Point is a safe place to bring your doubts, questions, and curiosities, regardless of your beliefs or background. We invite you to come and take a look around. What you'll find is a group of people who truly desire to experience God and discover that life was never meant to be traveled alone.

How should I dress?

Turning Point is a “come as you are” church. Jeans and ties are equally welcomed.

What's available for my kids?

We love kids!  Our First Steps Kid’s Ministry (18mos – 4yrs) is a fun, safe and clean environment staffed by a loving group of people that will provide exceptional care for your “little ones”.  Cross Current (5yrs – 12yrs) provides an energetic and engaging worship experience that will run concurrent with the adult service.  Check-in is required for all Cross Current activities. Check-in and check-out for all ages takes place at the registration table in the Higher Grounds Cafe.  There, parents fill out an information card for their child and receive a number that will help our Cross Current and First Step teams to communicate with them if needed during the worship experience.

Children are always welcome in adult worship. As a matter of fact, we believe it is very important for our families to worship together.  All of our kids (with the exception of our toddlers) join us in the main auditorium for worship.

What if I'd like to pray with someone?

There is almost always ministry time offered during or at the end of every worship service.  The Turning Point leadership team is always available to pray with you.  You can also email personal prayer requests or simply fill out the “Prayer Request” section on the back of your Connection Card when you attend.

What type of music will there be?

We see worship as the doorway into God’s presence.  Our worship band seeks to lead us through that door each week.  Contemporary worship is the norm for our weekend worship experiences.  There are times when timeless hymns are used to bridge the gap between old and new.  For us, it isn’t as much about style as it is heart.

Will I be asked to give money?

Offerings are given as an act of worship for attendees who call Turning Point their home.  We teach and believe in Biblical stewardship.  For new visitors, your presence is a gift to us. We want you to be blessed without feeling any obligation to give.

How long does your Sunday morning service last?

At Turning Point our services are deigned to last for sixty minutes.
